“The Present” Wins BAFTA for best British short film | Filmmaker Farah Nabulsi dedicates award to “people of Palestine long overdue freedom and equality”. (Video)

“The Present” was the winner for Best Short Film at the 2021 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards.

The short film is also nominated for an Oscar and was co-written by Nabulsi and Palestinian-American poet and director Hind Shoufani .

The Present is now streaming on Netflix.

After winning the award, British-Palestinian director and filmmaker Farah Nabulsi’s reacted by saying “For anyone who has seen The Present … you would know why I dedicate this award to the people of Palestine for whom freedom and equality is long, long overdue …”  ( Watch acceptance video below)
