Hours after Israeli strikes on Iran’s consulate in Syria have left at least 11 people dead – among them Brig Gen Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the highest-ranking Iranian military official to be killed since the January 2020 assassination of Gen Qassem Suleimani by the U.S. in Baghdad, The United States told Iran it was not involved and had no advance knowledge of the Monday’s strike, as first reported by Axios.

In an interview by Survivability News with international geopolitical and Middle East expert and MLi Group chairman Khaled Fattal said, “American lives have been put grave & immediate risk by Israel’s attack on Iran’s Consulate in Damascus. If the Biden administration is lying that it had no involvement or advance knowledge means that it knowingly put American lives in grave danger.”

“The decisive and immediate actions President Biden will take with Israel, or will not take, will determine if the US is telling the truth or lying, and if American lives will be the reprisal price paid for Israel’s attack on Iran’s consulate.”

Khaled Fattal said, speaking as an international geopolitical and Middle East expert.

Fattal then elaborated with more detail saying, “The Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate is a clear attempt by PM Netanyahu to draw the United States in a war with Iran to widen its Israel Hamas war into a Middle East wide war. Netanyahu wants to transform his failed war to destroy Hamas despite 6 months of war crimes and genocide on Gaza civilians. This is his attempt to turn it into a direct and regional Israel Iran war with the US on his side.”

Fattal then clarified further by saying:

“If Netanyahu succeeds, he will change the war narrative in the US, the West, and around the world from the ‘Israel Hamas War’ which became ‘Israel Gaza Genocide’ into a ‘US & Israel war on Iran” narrative. 

Doing so transforms the war into ‘Israel’s fight for its existence’, for its ‘Survivability’. A war Netanyahu positioning himself aligned with the US to then falsely label the war as a fight for ‘democracy’ for ‘freedom’ for ‘Western Values’ and against ‘oppression’ and ‘dictatorship’.

The most sinister part of Nateyah’s plan is to open the door to turn all this into a war with ‘Islam’ and ‘Islamic Terrorism’. For all this to become possible, it is critical for Netanyahu to succeed in drawing the US in. Success means Netanyahu’s would secure remaining as Israel’s PM for now and past the US Presidential elections.”

Fattal added, “The Israeli action is very dangerous to the US and has put American lives and interests in direct danger. The United States telling Iran “it was not involved and had no advance knowledge” of the Monday’s strike is worrisome. It creates two scenarios of possibilities with serious corresponding ramifications.

Fattal elaborated,

• “Scenario 1:  The US is telling the truth – If so, this means Israel’s knowingly put American lives in harm’s way when Iran’s reprisal takes place. The only way President Biden can save American lives, interests and credibility around the world is to immediately issue a Presidential order to halt ALL SUPPORT to Israel with immediate effect. This is the only way the US can show it genuinely was NOT involved and did NOT know in advance of the Israeli strike. Also, when the UN Security Council debates the attack, the US must NOT veto or abstain when a vote to condemn Israel’s action takes place.”

• “Scenario 2 – If no decisive action by President Biden and the US administration takes place as I said above to distance the US from Israel’s strike on Iran’s consulate, I would say the US is lying with a high probability of being right. Also, if the US only issues a verbal warning to Israel or Iran but does not match it with a decisive action as described in Scenario 1 would imply with good certainty that the US is also lying. Also, if the US does veto a UN security council to condemn Israel, I would then conclude that the US is lying with confidence. I hope and pray that the US is telling the truth.”
