Scotland has recorded its seventeenth day without any new registered coronavirus deaths, as authorities reported 31 new cases.

It brings the total number of positive cases to 18,676, according to figures released in the last hour.

Police have been patrolling the largely deserted city streets of Melbourne after the implementation of a curfew, as authorities in the Australian state of Victoria grapple with hundreds of “mystery cases” of coronavirus.

Under the six-week so-called stage 4 lockdown, no one will be allowed to venture further than 5km (3.1 miles) from their home, only one person per household per day will be allowed to go shopping, and only one hour of exercise will be permitted.
